About Us

The rivers of NW Oregon and SW Washington
have been my home away from home, in Cedar
Mill, Oregon. I have credentials which should
lend credence to this work. I have been one of
those salmon and steelhead fishing fanatics for
over 30 years, fishing all over the NW quadrant
of America. This includes several years spent
as a successful full-time fishing guide. Like the
best of fishermen, I have been a serious
student of the game. I have read one heck of a
lot of good 'how to' fishing material. I've also
observed and fished with some of the best
Northwest fishermen and guides over many
years. I've experimented extensively, with a lot of
success. I have been out there on the water
experiencing, observing, and learning
everything I could. However, no one that fishes
for a lifetime will ever stop learning new things.
During the first couple years of the new
Millennium, I had been a featured fishing
technique writer and moderator, concurrently, of
the two largest salmon and steelhead oriented
internet fishing websites in the Northwest
region. I have also been a salmon and
steelhead fishing technique columnist in
Salmon Trout Steelheader (STS) magazine for a
number of years, by the same name of 'The
Reel Truth'.
